Pastry Chef Assistant
You'll work closely with our Head Pastry Chef to craft and produce a stunning variety of cakes, pastries, and desserts. If you have a meticulous eye for detail and a genuine love for the art of baking, this is the perfect opportunity to grow your skills in a creative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Pastry Chef in the preparation and production of our full range of baked goods and desserts.
- Execute accurate mise en place by weighing, measuring, and preparing ingredients for various recipes.
- Support daily kitchen operations and maintain a clean and highly organised workstation at all times.
- Help with basic finishing and decorating techniques for pastries and cakes to ensure our products are beautifully presented.
- Actively assist with stock management, including rotation and inventory counts, to ensure freshness and minimise waste.
- Clean and sanitise all kitchen equipment and work areas, upholding the highest standards of hygiene.
- Diligently adhere to all food safety and workplace health and safety regulations.
Essential Skills & Attributes:
- A culinary qualification or relevant baking/pastry training.
- A solid understanding of pastry techniques and baking principles.
- A strong commitment to quality and exceptional attention to detail.
- The ability to work efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- A strong work ethic and passion for creating high-quality desserts.
- A current Food Safety Certificate or a willingness to obtain one.
Bonus Skills:
- Previous experience in a patisserie or bakery setting.
- Knowledge of New Zealand's specific food safety standards.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 15 kg
- Comfortable working in a standing position for extended periods

Front of House - Patisserie Assistant
As the welcoming face of our patisserie, you'll be essential in creating an exceptional experience for every guest. If you have a genuine passion for dessert and hospitality, and a desire to represent our business with pride, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers with warmth and professionalism, Handle customer queries and feedback with a positive, solution-focused attitude
- Take orders accurately and operate the point-of-sale system
- Serve cakes, desserts, and beverages with care and attention to presentation, Liaise with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and order accuracy
- Maintain a clean and inviting front-of-house environment, including counters and displays, by refilling and rotating product displays to ensure freshness and appeal
- Support opening and closing duties as required
- Collect plates, clean tables and load/unload dishwasher
- Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety standards
Essential Skills & Attributes
- Prior experience in a customer service or hospitality role.
- A friendly, professional, and well-presented demeanor, with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to remain calm, efficient, and organised during peak periods.
- A strong attention to detail and a genuine sense of pride in your work and personal presentation.
- Confidence in handling cash and using POS systems.
- A passion for high-quality desserts, food, and providing outstanding customer service.
- Conscious of and committed to upholding our business's reputation and brand image.
Bonus skills:
- Knowledge of pastries, desserts, or specialty cakes.
- Barista experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be comfortable standing for extended periods.
- Able to lift and carry light trays or stock items (up to 5kg).

Front of House - Barista
We're looking for a passionate and skilled Front of House Barista to join our team at Dhi Ferrari Cakes. As a key part of our front-of-house team, you'll be responsible for crafting an exceptional coffee experience that perfectly complements our stunning range of cakes and pastries. If you have a meticulous eye for detail , a genuine love for the art of coffee, and a passion for hospitality , this is the perfect opportunity to grow your skills in a creative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Craft and serve the full range of espresso-based and other coffee beverages with precision, speed, and consistency.
- Prepare and present a variety of specialty non-coffee beverages, such as premium hot chocolates and chai lattes, ensuring they meet our quality and presentation standards.
- Create and serve the full range of cold beverages, including premium milkshakes, smoothies, and iced drinks.
- Dial in grinders and adjust espresso parameters throughout the day to ensure optimal shot quality and taste.
- Greet and assist customers with warmth and professionalism.
- Serve bottled beverages, including specialty sodas and artisan juices, with appropriate glassware.
- Maintain a clean and highly organised workstation, including daily and weekly cleaning of the coffee machine, grinders, blenders, and bar area.
- Actively assist with stock management for all beverage ingredients (coffee, milk, chocolate, chai, fruit purees, juices), including rotation and inventory counts.
- Liaise with both front-of-house and kitchen staff to ensure timely service and order accuracy.
- Diligently adhere to all food safety and workplace health and safety regulations.
Essential Skills & Attributes
- Proven experience as a Barista in a specialty coffee or high-volume hospitality setting.
- A solid understanding of coffee extraction principles, milk texturing, and latte art.
- A friendly, professional, and well-presented demeanor , with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced kitchen or service environment.
- A strong commitment to quality and exceptional attention to detail.
- A strong work ethic and a genuine passion for coffee, high-quality desserts, and providing outstanding customer service.
- Conscious of and committed to upholding our business's reputation and brand image.

- Experience with different brewing methods (e.g., pour-over, batch brew).
