Most corporate gifts get opened at a desk, admired for a few seconds and pushed into the corner beside the monitor, while the ones people remember tend to ask for a second person, a kettle and ten minutes away from the inbox. We built our corporate gifts for NZ teams and clients around that moment and priced them in clear tiers, so whoever holds the budget can match a box to a person without a round of emails, and here's how the range lines up if you're sorting staff and client gifts for New Zealand's end-of-year rush.
Under $50: small pieces that multiply easily
For a whole team, the packaged treats can be bundled however the numbers fall, and they keep at room temperature out of the sun, so a stack can wait in a drawer until the right afternoon. A Honey Cake at $8 is a spiced cake filled with dulce de leche (condensed milk cooked slowly into caramel) and dipped in dark chocolate, and the shell cracks under your teeth before the soft, sticky middle gives way. Beside it sit Guava Biscuits at $4, butter biscuits that melt on the tongue around a sharp spoonful of guava jam, the Triple Choc Cookie at $7, and brigadeiro at $2 each, the fudgy Brazilian sweet Dhi grew up with in Rio de Janeiro.
A team sharing one kitchen often gets more from a single cake than from twelve parcels, and a 20cm loaf from our Tea Cakes & Loaves range costs $35 and serves eight, while the 25cm bundt at $55 serves sixteen. We call these travel cakes because they carry no delicate frosting and need no fridge, so one goes into the morning meeting under your arm.
$50: The Sweet Treats Gift Box
The Sweet Treats Gift Box holds two each of the Honey Cake, brownie bites, guava biscuits and triple chocolate cookies, with a canvas tote, in our presentation packaging. Two of everything is deliberate, since the box is made to be split with a partner at home or passed across a shared desk, and it suits the colleague you'd like to thank properly without making a ceremony of it.
$70: The Artisan Tasting Gift Box and the $75–100 band
The Artisan Tasting Gift Box brings a hand-made Curios ceramic tumbler from Woolston in a sea green glaze, a sachet of organic Zealong tea in your choice of twelve blends, a tasting selection of our baking, a canvas tote and a $15 beverage token. We like that token best, because it covers two of our Zealong teapots for one at $7 each, so the gift quietly becomes an invitation for your client to come into The Welder with a colleague and sit down over a pot each.
Many organisations cap gifts somewhere between $75 and $100 a head, and this box sits just under that line so you can add a finishing piece without tipping over it: Hōhepa beeswax candles bring it to $80, Masala Chai Concentrate to $89, and the Tea Pairing Honey Collection, three jars of raw South Island honey, to $95.
$135: The Grand Tea Ritual
For the client relationship that carried your year, The Grand Tea Ritual Gift Box holds a full tin of organic Zealong tea, a hand-carved Curios ceramic mug with a rounded belly you wrap both hands around, our Honey Cake, biscuits and brownie bites, a tote and the same $15 beverage token. The mug and the tin will still be on someone's desk next winter, and you can read about both makers in our piece on Curios and Hōhepa and the story of Zealong tea. If you can't guess what someone would choose, a gift card starts at $15 and can go towards a High Tea for two.
Notes, invoices and dietary needs
A handwritten note or printed branded card goes into every box, we can add a branded sticker to the packaged items, and the whole order is billed on one consolidated GST invoice so the accounts team has a single line to reconcile. Ask for tasting samples before a large order, and tell us about dietary needs on the enquiry form so we can curate around them. The brownie bites are made with no added gluten, and our No Added Gluten Cakes & Desserts are worth a look for guests avoiding gluten, though our kitchen is small and without exclusive production areas for all of our different recipes, so traces may occur and we can't guarantee anything for severe coeliac disease.
Collecting your order from The Welder
We don't deliver or courier, corporate orders included, so one person collects the whole order from our patisserie inside The Welder at 20–26 Welles Street, with parking across the road and behind the building, and the boxes stack neatly in a car boot. Most products need two days' notice and the checkout date picker only offers dates the kitchen can meet, while larger quantities go through the form on our corporate gifting page, which asks for your organisation, quantity and budget per gift. Anything cancelled more than three days before pickup is refunded in full.
We're open 10am–6pm Tuesday to Friday and 10am–3pm Saturday, closed Sundays and Mondays and over the end-of-year break, so book Christmas gifts early, browse our premium gifts and vouchers, and see our earlier corporate gifting guide while you shortlist.
