Our desserts are hand-crafted, and made to order, so you select the date/time of pickup in the checkout process. Pickup is from our Patisserie located inside the Welder, Central City Christchurch, no earlier than the date/time selected.
When choosing the size of cake, it's hard to say exactly how many people it will feed, but as a general guideline:
15cm - provides 12-15 servings
20cm - provides 20-25 servings
25cm - provides 30-35 servings
1. Place your Order
You choose a pickup date and time at checkout. deally the day before your event, so it is one less thing on the day.
2. We make your cake
We bake and finish your cake by hand ready for your pickup date/time.
3. Collect from us
Collect from our patisserie at The Welder, Tuesday to Saturday. We don't deliver.
4. Serve
Your cake can be stored up to 3 days in the box we give you with no change in taste or texture. Take it out of the fridge at least an hour before serving.
Hand Made Just For You
Coffee-soaked vanilla sponge layered with milk custard and finished in coffee ganache. A morning cake, for the colleague whose birthday starts with a flat white anyway.

While our team takes all necessary steps to minimise the risk of cross-contamination, traces may occur due to our kitchen being small and without ‘exclusive’ production areas for all of our different recipes.

Yes, if you leave a note we can write something short e.g. "Happy Birthday Sam"
Due to recent NZ food labelling updates, I cannot claim any of my items are 'gluten-free' or 'dairy-free', only that I have not added any gluten or dairy containing ingredients.
While some of our products are made without allergen-containing ingredients, they are produced in a shared kitchen where allergens are present.
Therefore, we cannot guarantee they are safe for individuals with severe allergies.
Get in touch with me if you have concerns about a specific item in a cake and we can see if we can accomodate.
We don't make custom cakes so cannot make new recipes for customers, only potentially omit ingredients or make minor changes.
Apologies but I don't make custom cakes, so cannot create something for you that's not listed on the menu.
Yes, all of our cakes and desserts can be safely stored in the packaging we give you for 1-3 days without any change in taste or texture.
If you anticipate storing for more than this, it's best to freeze in an airtight container, however note that some of our decorations may crack from being frozen due to the expansion effect of moisture freezing.
Please let them come to room temperature before eating for the best experience.

We ordered this cake for a 21st birthday and it was fantastic. Beaautifully presented and tasted amazing.
The cake was beautiful and moist but judging by the number of pieces left with only a few nibbles eaten oof them a good ten of more of the 33 guests at our party found the cake too rich or not to their liking.
There also didn't seem to be a way of getting 'Happy 70th Birthday' written onto the cake. That seemed like an oversight on your part because I did request it.
Despite those comments the cakes were beautifully presented and a generous size.

Such a unique creation that showcases the very best of NZ coffee and dairy culture.
The combination of vanilla cake soaked in coffee syrup, layered with milk custard, and topped with coffee buttercream makes this the best and most indulgent coffee cake I've ever eaten to date (think Tiramisu + Custard Square + Dalgona Coffee).
Certainly recommended for coffee lovers !
