We regularly update our range every few months, changing flavours and bringing back old favourites. We have gluten free options for food, and dairy free options for drinks.

We are a plant-filled cozy space that welcomes dogs, is kid friendly (we have high chairs), and has a mix of different seating for people of all ages and abilities.
Watch Dhi & our skilled pastry chefs working on your next delicious treat in our open plan kitchen, or our team working on a specialty coffee or beverage for you.
Watch our kitchen work from the counter, we make everything on-site, with nothing from a pre-mix. Our coffee is fair-trade organic, our chocolate is rich and belgian, and our tea is from the only tea estate in New Zealand.
Group Friendly
We have tables that can be pushed together to seat groups of 4 people and a long table to suit 12.
Kid Friendly
We have low tables suitable for kids, a lounge chillout area, and a high chair.
Dog Friendly
The Welder is dog friendly, we have a dog bowl for water and our tables have metal legs you can clip a leash to.

Located inside the Welder
We're conveniently in The Welder, a historic character building dating back as far as 1880 originally constructed to contain a blacksmith, welder and engineer.
We are open Tuesday to Saturday
These are our normal hours through the week
- Monday: Closed
- Tuesday: 10am - 6pm
- Wednesday: 10am - 6pm
- Thursday: 10am - 6pm
- Friday: 10am - 6pm
- Saturday 10am - 3pm
- Sunday: Closed
Holiday Hours
During the year we shorten our closing time to 3pm on public holidays, and we are closed during the end of year holiday period.

Transport & Parking Options
Our address can be entered as "The Welder" or 26 Welles Street, Christchurch Central City.
By Bus
Catch any bus to the Christchurch Bus Interchange, then we are only one block south, approximately 7 minutes walk.
By Bike
There are metal bike racks located outside the side entrance of the Welder.
By Car
There are parking lots across the road and behind the Welder, and there are a number of parks along the side entrance.
